Body Glue
What is Body Glue?
Body Glue is the result of the world’s latest technology, and is used to shorten the time your body needs to heal itself after cosmetic surgery. By using a small amount of a patient’s own blood, a glue-like gel can be produced that, when applied properly, will increase wound healing and decrease the amount of bruising and swelling traditionally associated with various cosmetic surgery procedures.
How is Body Glue made?
Body Glue is produced while you are in surgery. The process of creating Body Glue is very simple and pain-free. Once you are in the operating room, a small amount of your blood is drawn and processed so that it will release human growth factors. Since these growth factors are derived from your own blood, there is no chance of transmitted infection or rejection by the body. This blood is then separated into its various components, which concentrates and releases the growth and healing factors, resulting in Body Glue gel. When your surgery is nearly complete, the Body Glue gel is applied to the area of the surgery. The Body Glue technique is one of many we use to ensure the best results for our patients, and to help facilitate your healing process.
Does Body Glue take long to make?
It takes only minutes to make the Body Glue gel during your surgery.
How does Body Glue help my body heal?
Body Glue helps to speed the body’s healing process several ways: increasing collagen production; improving the growth of new blood vessels; reducing swelling; and improving soft-tissue wound healing.
Can Body Glue be used on all cosmetic surgery procedures?
Currently Body Glue is being used on patients undergoing face lifts, brow lifts, neck lifts, breast enlargements, breast reductions, and tummy tucks. Body Glue has also proven successful in other surgical procedures, including injuries and traumas, such as healing after dog bites.
