Why lip augmenation? Our lips are plump and full during youth, but they lose this fullness as we age. The upper lip, in particular, can make us look dramatically older as it begins to thin. The distance from the tip of the nose to the upper lip lengthens, and the vermilion border, known as the “cupid’s bow,” can flatten out. A “corner lip lift” can help lift the corners of the mouth reducing a frown-like appearance. More symmetry may also be desired.
How is it done? Lip lift or lip augmentation increases the volume and fullness of the lips, providing a more attractive contour and a youthful, natural pout . Several options are available including 1) surgery, and 2) injectable fillers using fat, hyaluronics including: Juvedern, Perlane and Radiesse, or permanent fillers such as PermaLip permanent lip implant.
