Cheek Implants
Permanent cheek implants are made of silicone and are inserted surgically from inside the mouth and it takes about a week to heal. Dr. Man is not using these as much as there are so many excellent injectable fillers that are available that can easily provide symmetry between the right and left cheek.
Full, round cheeks help to fill out the face and keep us young looking. As we age, the fat pads that make up the cheeks loose their plumpness, becoming flat, often falling and even disappearing. There are several ways the surgeon can fill out the cheeks to give more fullness and definition to the face. This is often done in conjunction with a facelift or other procedure(s) using fat injections to plump up the depressed areas.
